1. Copper/Zinc Ionizer/ Instant Ions
A very simple way to use copper ions residual sanitizer is "Instant Ions" or one of the other liquid copper ions products. It is a liquid and will quickly add an effective level of copper, silver and zinc sanitizer to your spa water. It is measurable via test strips. This allows you to monitor the level periodically to ensure adequate levels of sanitizer. It can be used with an ozonator. This is also known as a "mineral" sanitizer. There are other Brands of copper/mineral products such as Nature-2, Spa Frog, Rainforest Blue and Cleanwater Blue.
This is a modern, proven, measurable and effective way to treat your spa water using the least amount of chemical products. There are no bromine or chlorine levels to maintain in the spa water. No chlorine smell and no harsh chemical feel. Dichlor and non chlorine shock are used only in small quantities after you have gotten out of the spa when you are done soaking. Such a small amount of dichlor is needed that it will have dissipated to zero in a few hours. You are soaking only in chlorine free water.
If you compare cost, ease of use and effectiveness, the liquid copper/mineral products are the clear winners in Hot Tub water care systems. The solid systems, such as the Nature-2 system, cost much more than the liquid products.
The copper, silver and zinc remain in the spa water 24/7 as a "residual sanitizer". It continuously and naturally prevents the growth of micro-organisms.
Alternatively an electronic electrode type of ionizer is available from the Spa Specialist. It will ionize your water with copper, silver and zinc as well but the liquid ions are a bit easier to use. You can see an electronic ionizer in the photo.
Technically the use of copper ions is not a new water treatment. It has been known for hundreds of years. It is modern only in the sense that it is been used in hot tubs for a only few years. It is new enough that many spa professionals don't understand it well enough. Thats why they still recommend chlorine /bromine systems. If you currently use another chemical system and want to switch to ions or Eco One please call or email Vince at Pacific Spa Sales for information.

PS. I use instant ions in my own spa. My wife and I love the water!
2. Eco One

Read about Eco One http://www.ecoonespa.com
Eco One is the easiest to use and least work of any spa water care system. It is an "enzyme" based system. It can be used with Instant Ions but the ions are not required. Eco One should be used with ozonator according to the Spa Specialist's Eco One Instructions.
Again we insist that you avoid the highly chemical bromine, chlorine and biguanide/peroxide based water systems in your Haven Spa.
We want you to use a modern water care system that gives you the most pleasant and safe water experience possible.
If you currently use another chemical system and want to switch ions or EcoOne please call or email Vince at Pacific Spa Sales for information.
