Spa
Salesman to Spa
Shopper:
"Oh yeah, we took the
blowers off of our spas years ago. They are noisy and don't seem to
make much difference in jet pressure." " In fact, they just make
noise and break down...you'll be happy you don't have the worry and
the problems. Don't buy a spa with a blower." "I've never had a
customer ever come in and ask for one."
***Note: The
salesman quickly and skillfully talks you out of turbo air if you
ask about it.
Facts:
A "blower" is an air pump that is built into a spa. Haven Spas
calls this feature "Turbo Air". Sort of a fancy name but it
describes the effect of the pressurized air which is introduced by
the air pump into the water jets and separate air injector holes
designed into the spa.
Reality: Turbo
Air is a Great Feature!!! Even the world's cheapest fabric spas
have a form of turbo air included! Why don't the major spa
manufacturers include turbo air on their
spas?
Reality: Modern blower motors are
quiet and reliable. When installed properly with a quality check
valve the air pump is extremely reliable and trouble free. When
placed inside a thermally sealed spa the pump is very
quiet.
Modern spas are all about
hydrotherapy or "therapy" for short. The therapy comes from the
warm water plus the massage action of the spa jets. The jet pumps
provide the power to force water thru a variety of jets. This can
massage your neck, back legs and feet.
Facts about Spa
Design and Turbo Air:
Turbo Air is very quiet when the
pump is enclosed inside of the sealed insulated space inside of a
thermally sealed type of spa.
Turbo Air draws in warmed air from the inside of the thermally
sealed spa. By blowing warm air through the warm spa water the
water is not cooled off very quickly. This results in a more energy
efficient spa that costs less to operate because the heater does
not turn on as often.
Turbo Air reliability is due to quality components and careful
placement of the air pump, the check valve and other design
factors.
Turbo Air is a fairly costly feature for the manufacturer to add to
the spa. The cost of the pump and the complex jets and associated
tubing going to all areas of the spa. Plus, the electronic
controller must upgraded to handle it.
Haven includes Turbo Air on many of its models because it is a
worthwhile and important feature.
The large popular spa manufacturers avoid the Turbo Air feature due
to the limitations of the full foam design. They also don't mind
avoiding the associated manufacturing costs of the complex Turbo
Air installation. Less costs mean more profits. If you are
skeptical of the benefit of Turbo Air, then I invite you to come
and try a Haven Spa with Turbo Air. No obligation.
